NHS | TREE OF LIFE

The piece 'Bluebells and Butterfly's is a representation of the thoughts and feelings surrounding the new 'change' and 'developments' within the department, and in the broader sense relates to 'change' and 'new beginnings' as a whole. Within this piece, as with all of my artwork my intention was to deliver the message via an amalgamation of individual visual elements brought together to form a lose narrative. Central to artwork and this story lies the symbol; 'the seed of life' it represents the heart of the work here, and that of the hospital. From this 'seed' the trees 'Celtic-style' intertwined roots grow to form the trunk and its many branches, upon which are 246 brightly coloured butterfly's creating the trees foliage. It is the Butterfly's that bring the piece into its entirety and  deliver  the artworks fundamental message.
